The Health Care Act was passed by Congress last year. HB 298 stops discretionary (meaning optional) funding of The Health Care Act. When HB 298 came to the Idaho Senate floor last week, I stated my reasons to support HB 298. This is what I stated on the floor:
1. The Health Care Act will increase the debt of our country by billions, possibly trillions, and there is an appropriation of $105 billion in the act to implement the Health Care Act. Debt of countries leads to revolutions, mostly bloody revolutions, like what happened in the French Revolution.
2. The Health Care Act takes away our right to choose our doctor, sets up death panels, mandates that we have to buy health care, and sets up a wellness program in the home to take our children away from us--which is the same way that the Nazis invaded the privacy of the homes of their people.
3. When still in Hollywood on a radio address in 1961, Ronald Reagan spoke against a national health care bill, warning us that it would take away individual rights and give statism and socialism a "foot in the door". Reagan said that under the name of liberalism, people would adopt every fragment of the socialist program by way of disguise of medicine as a humanitarian endeavor because Americans are reluctant to oppose medical care for people who can't afford it. If this Health Care Act was listed as "socialized medicine" Americans would vote against it, but it has been renamed as a protection and care act and it is a "foot in the door".
4. Fidel Castro, for the first time in history, complimented our government on this huge step of control of the people when the Health Care Act was passed.
