It is not the law

The 2nd argument that we hear is that it is the law.
Let us remember Dred Scott, the black slave whom the Supreme Court determined was not a citizen or protected by our Constitution, but was property in 1857. The states did not follow the decision of the Supreme Court. They did not say, "It is the Law". It was probably the most unjust decision made by the Supreme Court. We do not need to follow the Supreme Court's decision on yielding to the feds either. Idaho did not force us to use the National ID in 2005. That law is still a federal law and it has never been implemented because most of the states refused. We do not need to set up a government exchange. Our founding fathers like Washington, Adams, and Jefferson fought against the unjust law of England. That is why we have the US and our Constitution which defends our rights. What if they had said, "Well, it is the law-let' implement it and we will control it" Would we be free today? Justice Robert in his opinion said, "In the typical case we look to the State to defend their prerogatives by adopting the simple expedient of not yielding to federal blandishments when they do not want to embrace the federal policies as their own. The states are separate and independent sovereigns. Sometime they need to act like it." Aren't we a state? Do we want our businesses running to other states to avoid penalties? Business will flood to the other states to avoid the costs. According to an independent Idaho poll 64% of Idahoans oppose a government exchange. Will they leave also? There are many private enterprise options. Health Care Sharing Ministries, Health Savings Accounts, Safeway employee health plan, Patient Power. Dr Ben Carson at the National Prayer Breakfast standing next to Obama suggested a different king of health care plan by setting up HSA's for every child at birth. Dr never suggested an exchange. We do have options-options that will lower the cost of health care through competition, simplicity, and common sense. In summary, this exchange will have no control. It is not the law yet. Not until we make it the law. Let's wait on this until we can find out more and make more demands in our interest for a just law to be implemented. It is not worth the risk. Let's join with the other 26 states that have refused a state exchange. There is strength in numbers -we do not need to be the weak link in the chain. The Heritage Foundation, Cato Institute, ALEC, American Legislative Exchange Council, , and 26 States, explain in detail why not to set up a state exchange. They even advocate that a federal one is less intrusive than a state exchange. Why are they being ignored? New Jersey Governor Chris Christie pointed out ,(Farm Bureau letter dated 1/31/13, "I will not ask New Jerseyans to commit today to a state-based exchange when the federal government cannot tell us what it will cost, how that cost compares to our other options, and how much control they will give the states over this state-financed option."
