I have been spending much of my time working on various measures to ensure the protection of our 2nd Amendment rights as Idahoans and curtail the overstep of the Federal Government. Like many, I am appalled by this week's actions and the blatant usurpation of the Federal Government on our unalienable rights. As we are starting the budget making process, it has been really disturbing to see how far Obamacare is leeching into so many different areas of our state budget. Many various agencies are asking for increased budgets to either "comply" with an Obamacare mandate and expand personnel needs to handle the new regulations that Obamacare implements. Being on the Budget committee has been a great opportunity to see exactly why we do not want a state healthcare exchange and why we do not want Obamacare in Idaho. With the rule-making oversight process, I have been reviewing and inquiring about the various rules that the state departments are trying to implement, especially in the Finance and Health and Welfare committees, ensuring that they are faithfully executing their duties and responsibilities with Idaho Citizens in mind. Lastly, I have been researching and investigating various items that some of you have been bringing to my attention. Thank you for contacting me.
