Today the Senate commerce committee voted 8-1 to establish the state health exchange insurance in Idaho, with the lone dissenting vote coming from Democratic Senator Brandon Durst. Although the vote was disappointing, we must continue to fight Obamacare. An unjust law should never be considered constitutional. I still believe whole-heartedly that Obamacare is bad policy because it violates three fundamental American principles: life, liberty, and property. It threatens life by subsidizing abortion-inducing pills and a surcharge to directly fund abortions, it endangers our liberty by forcing us to pay for a product, and it disrespects the right of property by taking our hard-earned money and forcefully requiring us purchase insurance.
